Black Democrats stand out in views of gender identity, trans issues
- jqpabc123 4y agoThe differentiating factor here --- this who say sex can be visually determined at birth can be easily proven wrong --- both medically/genetically and visually. It is well documented medical *fact* that people can be genetically female yet have male genitalia and vice versa.
- BuckRogers 4y agoAnd how common is that? 0.0001%? This concept of changing society entirely, because of some small exception that always existed is a trend that will be stopped. As the good times where people have energy to wring their hands and fret endlessly over extreme minorities will end. You’re just going to have to deal with the hand you were dealt in life.
- jqpabc123 4y agoAnd how common is that? According to the CDC, about 0.3%. Roughly 1 million people in the USA. How does acknowledging this change society? How does pretending it doesn't exist make your life better?
- BuckRogers 4y agoSo essentially a rounding error. It has been acknowledged. That’s about all it’s going to ever get. We can’t shape society around exceptions. It makes peoples life better to pretend it doesn’t exist because we have bigger problems that affect more people. The era of hand holding the extreme minority is coming to an end, because we have real problems to handle that have been ignored for decades for the majority. Issues which also cover the special interest groups that you care about.
- thesuperbigfrog 4y ago>> It is well documented medical fact that people can be genetically female yet have male genitalia and vice versa. It is called "complete androgen insensivity" in the case of XY chromosome individuals who appear female: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_androgen_insensitivity_syndrome https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_androgen_insensitivit... And "estrogen insensivity syndrome" for XX chromosome individuals who appear male: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estrogen_insensitivity_syndrome https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estrogen_insensitivity_syndr...
