No matter what your political views are, if you suggest that yours alone have a monopoly on logic and the views of others are determined by capricious emotion it's going to elicit negative responses and derail the thread. Framing it as a foregone conclusion is only going to magnify the perception of apathetic arrogance and increases the odds of it spiraling into a mess moderators will be left cleaning up.
