Poll: What is your professional status?
- ram1024 18y agowhere's the option for working, but soon making a startup? :D
- ryanwaggoner 18y agoDoing consulting and freelance work but leaving that all behind next month to pursue my startup full-time. Crazy times ahead ;-)
- greaterscope 18y agoin my case, the timeline for "leaving to work on a startup soon" is hopefully within 6 months. or maybe i should just take out a loan?
- markbao 18y agoStudent, startup(ish)
- BigZaphod 18y agoI'm professionally awesome. Which one does that fit under?
- run4yourlives 18y agoWorking, moonlighting on my own project
- MicahWedemeyer 18y agoYep, same here. Been doing that for about 3 years now. I explain it as Bruce Wayne vs Batman. When people ask me what I do, it comes down to "...but at night, my real work begins!"
- thomasmallen 18y agoWork for a non-profit.
- timcederman 18y agoWorking at a startup that got acquired not an option?
- emmett 18y agoThat would be "not at a startup", I think.
- iigs 18y agoWorking (as an employee) at a company that was a startup in 2004. Selected "... but not at a startup" because it's pretty hard to call > 1000 employees and billions in investment a startup anymore :)
- shawndrost 18y agoUnemployed :D
- lsc 18y agoprofessional? professionals wear suits. I'm running a company, but I still work days as a contractor to pay for it.
- a-priori 18y agoFull-time school + part-time work (not at a startup)
- dmpayton 18y agoThere is a big difference between working AT a startup (an employee) and working ON a startup (a founder), IMO. Any chance we can get an update to reflect that? Anyways, I chose 'Working at a startup', though I'd like to someday work ON a startup (as well as become a student again and finish school).
- ashishk 18y agogood point. added it, although i think it might be a bit late =)
- DaniFong 18y agoAt first I thought "Wow. Am I the only one so far to be working on a startup as a founder?" But then I discovered that this option was just added. Heh.
- nostrademons 18y agoSee, I just put down "Unemployed" for that situation. ;-)
- deleted 18y ago[deleted]
- zacharydanger 18y agoRecently laid off. :]
- rmason 18y agoEmployee working at a startup. I've previously founded two startups and I do agree that being an employee is quite different.
- MaysonL 18y agoYou forgot retired. I guess I'll have to use unemployed and working at a startup as a founder (they're both somewhat true).
- Caligula 18y agoWorking at a startup, but I prefer to brag that I am unemployed+living in my parents basement.
- ashleyw 18y agoUnemployed, Freelance, Hacking, and on a break from being a Student. Don't do much work freelancing, just enough to pay for my essentials, and mainly spend my time hacking and working on my own small projects. My plans are to finish school next year, but that could change — we will see what the next year throws at me. :)
