It's a petty that in Python, long running threads are the norm.
I hope the Python ecosystem can slowly convert to a CGI style approach.
- hprotagonist 4y agonothing prevents you from spawning a new worker in every endpoint. it’s a nice way to orchestrate long running workers actually: the main process exists exclusively to keep the app up/ talking to gunicorn/uvicorn and register PIDs of a worker process in a queue. but we’re all in on wsgi, i don’t see that changing.
- TekMol 4y agoThe way I understand you, the Python script responsible for an endpoint will keep running for multiple requests? I prefer it when it just runs for a single request.
