If you ask them to remove things that confuse some users they won't do it because that would be against their philosophy. That is what 'my way or the highway' means.
- cuteboy19 4y agoYou can remove any option from any context menu or title bar, so I don't think that quite applies. If you say that having any particular default means "my way or the highway" then that term becomes meaningless, no?
- taffer 4y agoI'm not talking about configurations or defaults. I'm talking about removing features and settings so my grandfather doesn't get confused, but I'm afraid that would go against their philosophy.
- cuteboy19 4y agoIt's configurable. You can remove virtually any feature yourself. Now if you want to remove the configuration option itself, that becomes a very different question
- midoridensha 4y agoThis sounds like a Russian-style argument: "you won't remove everyone else's choices and just force everyone to do everything my way, so you're being obstructionist!"
- taffer 4y agoIf they made an additional trimmed down KDE version for non-technical users, that would be more not less choice. Regarding "Russian-style argument": Be kind. Don't be snarky. Have curious conversation; don't cross-examine. Please don't fulminate. Please don't sneer, including at the rest of the community.
