One idea might be to incorporate and consult under your company's name. You might even do a sole proprietorship. In that case, customers will not necessarily do a background check on you yourself (some still will), because you are not necessarily contracting on a particular individual doing the work.
This might involve a few hundred dollars, but if you indeed have skills worth $125/hr, it would be worth working at a car wash etc. until you save that up.
