I just want to add a comment to the horde, to let you know that I agree with you completely on all these points. Looking at the other replies, it occurs to me that the debate is often framed solely as a moral issue, but actually, we have considerable evidence of harm, several decades worth. Unfortunately it's difficult to get people to even consider the latter, when they want to focus solely on making their arguments for the former.
