I work in technical due diligence, but principally for private equity, who have a different priority from VC. They want to see healthy businesses over growth at all costs. I see lots of very successful small teams. I'm firmly convinced now after 60+ diligences that a small team of the best devs money can buy is the way to go, unless you are chasing VC money and need to show team growth for the optics.
