Yeah whatever.... Does anybody seriously believe this nonsense? Did Twitter killing off Vine also hurt academia? Because Vine and TikTok were/are substantially similar. Is the PRC behind this rhetoric, am I being paranoid? There was another PRC/CCP control app a while back, maybe called weechat or whatever, and it was banned because the CCP was reading all the chats sent my outside users... including academics using the app academically or whatever... they all just switched to using SMS or twitter or whatever one-of-a-bazillion other chat apps.
