Ask HN: What associations do you have with a brand name “LeaksID”?
- jb1991 4y agoNone; never heard it before.
- nullish_signal 4y agoData Exfiltration and Betrayal? "If I sign up for this service, will my ID be Leaked?" Based on "WikiLeaks", perhaps your brand is News Leaks based in Indonesia?
- juliet_de 4y agoThanks for your reply. What about "Leaks IDentification"? We wanted to convey exactly this meaning (data breaches/leaks identification).
- jjgreen 4y agoFor a technical crowd (possibly your target?), ID always makes you think of an id, an identifier; so not a good contraction for "IDentification".
- juliet_de 4y agoI see, thanks for the clarification!
- revolvingocelot 4y ago>data breaches/leaks identification Maybe "Leaksider" or "LeakSider" or something -- a portmanteau of "leaks" and "insider"? The graphic design of the logo can emphasize the ID.
- juliet_de 4y agoWow, thanks for the idea and your help!
- jjgreen 4y agoA leak is a piss in the UK, and LeaksID sounds a bit strange since an id is usually the id of a singular (uncommon to meet exceptions). So LeaksID, you (I) think it's an id of a set of leaks (plumbing? security?).
- juliet_de 4y agoThanks for your answer!
- terminal_d 4y agoSounds like the name of an illegal warez / software / movie release group.
- juliet_de 4y agohaha, thanks for your opinion and answer! It's really helpful.
- thensome 4y agoI would assume it's something to do with exposing the source of leaks and verifying or debunking the content therein
- juliet_de 4y agoThanks for your answer!
