Well, it is quite important knowing how `this` works in JavaScript. See: http://www.digital-web.com/articles/scope_in_javascript/ http://www.digital-web.com/articles/scope_in_javascript/
- ntkachov 15y agoAlso its really important to know how float works in javascript. because 0.1 + 0.2 != 0.3 in Javascript. I don't know why "application developer" == "Don't have to know how the thing I'm using works" Quite frankly I can never get away from knowing how the thing I'm using works. My greatest wish is that in 2050 we will create a computer language that has no performance penalties and all the JITers/vms/compilers are invisible to me. Until then I'm forced to learn all the inner workings of my languages if I want them to run reasonably.
