RISC-V Summit 2022: All Your CPUs Belong to Us
- sylware 4y agoWhen I will write my 64bits RISC-V code paths (or "port" from x86_64/arm64 assembly), I'll use a simple RISC-V assembler with a conservative usage of a macro preprocessor. Those same assembly written code paths, will probably run from mobile to server (small self-hosted and datacenter) via the desktop. And planned obsolescence from computer language syntaxes (ISO or compiler extensions), compiler (open source or not) vendor lock-in by size and complexity will be nightmares frome the past. And I'll have a much higher feeling of freedom.
