I suppose the good thing about this is at least AI is definitely useful for creating tools that improve productivity, whereas a lot of crypto was just speculation - it was easy to make a shitcoin and pump it up, but with AI you have to actually make a usable product that people would pay for. That is, unless you're making some kind of AI auto-scamming system, but that's less of a grey area.
