- ryandrake 4y agoIMO "Cross-platform UI" should really be a non-goal. A Windows user has very different expectations about their applications' look and feel, affordances, keyboard shortcuts, and the functionality of controls, than a macOS user has. Same between Android and iOS users. They expect things to work a certain way on their platforms. A UI that looks and feels the same across platforms disregards the expectations and needs of users in favor of the company's needs such as development cost and brand consistency. You have a point about Windows though. Every time they try a new native look&feel, they are diluting what it means to "act like a Windows app" and becoming more and more part of the problem.
