I think the mistake is to narrowly assume globalization only concerns the flow and sourcing of physical goods.
> Globalization ... is the process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and governments worldwide.

Ways global forces are ever more present in our lives:
- more and more of how we work, socialize, consume media, etc is through software produced by large multinational companies
- many of us seem to be emotionally or politically invested in movements in other countries. Americans who could not place Ukraine on a map 15 months ago are using its flag and taking stances on what kind of military aid is appropriate today. People who have never been to Iran are feeling alignment with ongoing protest movements there, etc etc.
- media is increasingly global, at all scales:
- hollywood movies get tweaked to be viable in China
- small-scale content producers regularly reach international audiences or do international collabs
- we even become aware of, and beholden to foreign regulations! US-based startups commonly now know and plan for their GDPR obligations.
I think globalization may be changing, but it's not dying.
