Airlines definitely ought to provide refunds when they fail to perform. It's frustrating that most of the criticism from politicians has surrounded refunds, but a refund will do nothing to help you find a new booking at last-minute prices. Airlines should be forced to offer rerouting on other carriers or EU261-level compensation.
- SOLAR_FIELDS 4y agoEven the EU comp regulations are not enough sometimes. Anyone who has tried to get their legally mandated compensation from Ryanair, EasyJet, or Norwegian will tell you what a pain it is. Legislation with some actual teeth is necessary.
