Anecdotal, but I always found that meta learning only had a few real tips but the real wins came from actually learning what you're looking to learn. I personally used to research productivity tips a lot, but (at least for me) it was a crutch for me to avoid actually doing the work of studying and learning. I just started diving into the problems/education and went from there and it's been a much better win for me. Once you have basic productivity/learning tips down, I think you've gotten the bulk of any benefit.
