is Hallucinogenic a correct term to describe psychedelics?
- herbst 4y agoI would actually argue no. I can't remember the last time I felt to dose so high that hallocinations were remotely a topic. Also plenty of psychodelics are not or barely hallocigenic at all.
- deemster 4y agoSome folks prefer the word entheogen. It's derived from the Greek word entheos, which means 'god within'.
- MonkeyMalarky 4y agoI kind of hate the word entheogen now. Not because of the word but because of the people who use it. Sort of like the righteous vegan or fanatical winter cyclist, the dude-bro-Joe-Rogan-mystical-shaman types are super annoying. Like we get it, you did a bunch of drugs and it was earth shattering, it doesn't need to become 100% of your personality.
- asdff 4y agoHow many of these people are you running into? I don't think I've ever heard the word entheogen spoken.
- MonkeyMalarky 4y agoWhen I was in university and hanging out with the types of people that go to music festivals and raves, you'd run into that kind of person sort of often.
- antihero 4y agoPsychedelics are a class of hallucinogen along with dissasociatives (ket) and deliriants (datura and other kinds of terrible thing)
- asdff 4y agoAt sufficient doses. You don't have to trip every time you do it, you can take enough to just be stoned.
