Stearic acids are used everywhere, including detergents, shampoos, soaps, etc. TIL they're made from tallow.

  Not all. Some is from plants, like palm or shea.

    Yeah I always assumed Palmolive was made of palm oil. Though with all the misleading advertising these days who knows.. I don't know chemistry well enough to determine this.
