This makes me sick. Ordering to destroy? That makes absolutely NO sense to me. If someone told me this story in person, I would have thought that it was a joke.

This makes me sick. Ordering to destroy? That makes absolutely NO sense to me. If someone told me this story in person, I would have thought that it was a joke. Paypal is right up there with godaddy on the list of worst tech companies.
- Vivtek 15y agoThe picture of the shredded violin causes me pain verging on the physical. It's probably best we don't know the identity of the buyer.
- troll24601 15y agoI hope the seller takes the buyer to small claims court. They should be forced to pay for a replacement violin. "but PayPal told me to do it" should not be a valid defense.
- rmc 15y agoThe seller agreed that if PayPal, at their sole discresion, thinks it's counterfiet, that they are OK with someone else destroying it.
- troll24601 15y agoIt's worth testing the validity of that in court. You can write anything into a contract, but it doesn't mean it's legally enforceable. The "buyer" accepted the risk that they were not legally protected when they voluntarily destroyed the seller's property. I hope this gets taken to court, and that we get a clear answer.
