Agreed 100%. The worst places on Earth are still better than the best places on Mars because you have free gravity and oxygen here. Even for a self-sustaining colony, it would be nice for a dome-crack to not be immediately fatal. Once we have thriving biodomes in the Outback, then talk to me about trying to do it on Mars.
