My bank allows me to have multiple checking accounts. I have money direct deposited in one account, and I transfer over just as much money as I need for checks into another account, and transfer over just as much money as I need for autobilling into a third account. I trust the entity that does the direct deposit, otherwise I would set up a fourth account just for that.
