Yeah doesn't help that the upfront cost of Oura isn't an easy swallow. It would have all the functions I want but the things that make me iffy about it are the cost and repairability. even if they have a decent return policy. I was looking into the Withings watches but their software (according to reviews) seem to be bad.

Yeah, honestly I wouldn't mind a system with the subscription if it was tied to a lower upfront cost. Basically, get the ring for less BUT have to pay a monthly fee, OR, normal cost and get a life-time use for the app. One thing I'm hoping for is their referral program might give "free months". Basically they have a system where an active user can share a code and give a 50€ discount, and they'll give something. A while back it was yellow tinted glasses for computer work, right now they have merch. I'm hoping next promo is free subscription.
