I disagree. Reading requires my full attention and dedication, while typing becomes almost an almost mechanical process very quickly. With reading, I always find myself moving my eyes back a few sentences because I would think I missed some unimportant information, taking me a while before I actually got into it. Maybe it's just because technology hurt my attention span.
