It was kind of painful for me to read this. There are so many reasons someone might not deeply engage in a conversation, and it can feel hurtful, but it's usually not because they are trying to be rude.
They might have had something on their mind, had a bad day at work, didn't want to be at the social event, whatever.
- bradlys 4y agoI agree - I give everyone multiple chances. But I’m saying give up at a certain point. Some people just ain’t worth bothering because you’ll never make meaningful progress in the time you have. Time is finite. Don’t waste it.
- bigDinosaur 4y agoJust like replying late consistently in text messages, eventually it becomes a waste of time even if it's with perfectly good intentions. I usually find it though that it's at least a bit callous eventually even if your interlocutor ostensibly has good reasons to be so consistently uncommunicative.
