The definition for representation can be highly nuanced and very personal. This is not to say that issues like race and gender aren't important and don't need support. Just that there are so many things that people bring to the table that can make them feel like "the other" which holds them back. It's surprising how lack of role models can lead some people to think it's not feasible or not even possible.
