- LinuxBender 4y agoNon-JS Version [1] The numbers I heard from a reputable source was closer to 500K but either way most of these are inexperienced conscripts. I feel empathy for their families. Both sides are wasting a lot of human life for an arguably futile goal of converting the former soviet states into Russian defensible zone. Ukraine isn't even one of the perimeter states, it's just in the way and has a useful port. I wish there was a better way for Russia to feel secure. - type0 4y agoRussia is not going to feel secure ever, even if they take Ukraine; it's more, there's always more, Georgia, Moldova, the Baltic states, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, etc On the Russian state television the message is loud and clear, they want to reinstate the whole Eastern Block. RF will never stop with this Imperialist conquering shit until they'll fall apart into dozen or more states.
