The article points at Sweden as an example of a cashless society. It’s really only cashless if you live there and have a Swedish bank account. Swish, which is sort of the Swedish equivalent to Zelle, is what is used in lieu of cards in several places, especially smaller businesses and pop up style transactions. Problem is that you need a Swedish bank account to use it. If you don’t have it, tough luck if the vendor won’t take cash.
