- nialo 15y agoIt turns out that if you quote a weekly rate clients are willing to pay more money.
- sequoia 15y agoThis is an interesting assertion. Do you have a reference?
- jsavimbi 15y agoWere you to provide a matrix (4hr min @ $150 per, $1000/day, $4000/wk) you would also get paid for every hour you work but you would create opportunities in the client's mind where they could actually help you bill more hours.
- tptacek 15y ago(a) Don't work 12 hour days as a contractor. (b) Raise your rates.
- rgraham 15y agoI like the consistency and simplicity of this message. I've noticed that when people have a message this simple and repeat it a lot they usually know exactly what they're talking about. tptacek is on point here. I don't care what your reason is for charging less. I don't care if money isn't important to you. Try it. Talk less about why you charge this or that. Challenge your own assumptions and try raising your rates.
