- dang 4y agoPlease don't do that. When other users vouch for the dead post, as happened in this case, we end up with a dupe and a split thread. Also, you deprive the original poster of the karma for their submission, which in the case of a new account actually makes a difference. Instead, you should vouch for the post and hopefully other users will do the same so that it gets restored (as happened with https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=34202662 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=34202662) or, if that fails to happen, let us know at hn@ycombinator.com and we'll fix it. I've moved the comments thither now.
