Flying blind: The problem isn’t flight cancellations – It’s flying
- RGamma 4y agoUnder (neoliberal) capitalist principles consumption expands as far as resources allow, by way of having, then newly found, consumers participate in its expansion. And this planet lets it expand beyond the bounds what it may sustain permanently (for a human civilization-scale sense of permanence), absent a force that would immediately constrain it. And so the reserves deplete and the real bill gets written when overburdening demand meets empty reserves. "Only after the last tree has been cut down / Only after the last river has been poisoned / Only after the last fish has been caught / Then will you find that money cannot be eaten." So, to more flight cancellations!
- sam345 4y agoWould be nice to see evidence of extreme weather causing airline delays and Southwest failure. But no evidence needed I guess as thi iss an opinion piece. In fact it was Southwest systems failure and failure to invest decades ago as documented in countless stories and employee reports. Efforts to cast and spin everything as a result of a climate crisis hurts the argument .
