Your Memories. Their Cloud.
- kosasbest 4y agoThe cloud is just someone else's computer. But I'm not gonna lie: in-case of a house destroying event, it's nice to have an off-prem solution for getting your data back when the worst comes to worst. For me I use Cryptomator[0] so Big Tech can't make arbitrary value judgements on my data or perform data mining, or scan people's faces to feed a facial recognition database, or otherwise abuse my photos or data. - Gaudwin 4y agoI have two hourly backups on micro diskettes that I wear around my neck 24/7 in case I lose my computer for a reason or another. I have two other external disks (monthly backups) that I keep in my car. The small leather pouch I wear around my neck also contain my credit cards, my license, and all my personal documents. My computer and this pouch are cyber extension of my memory.
