- input_sh 4y agoFor years I thought I wasn't using Amazon, finding this website called The Book Depository that offers free shipping to where I'm from (while Amazon charges ~$60). One day I randomly looked up who owns it. Amazon subsidiary since 2011. Amazon is mentioned zero times on the homepage, zero times on the about page, zero times in Terms & Conditions, and once in a random help article. So I've discovered I didn't go years without Amazon as I thought I did.
