I'm surprised he tested MSVC and Clang, and not GCC which usually generates faster code than those two.
- 3836293648 4y agoWell, they are the two easily available compilers on Windows. And rustc vs clang should be the fair comparison as they both use llvm
- rnestler 4y agoWhen comparing Rust and C++ it makes sense to use Clang IMO, since both, the Rust compiler and Clang, are based on LLVM. But nevertheless: I agree it would have been interesting to test with GCC as well.
