You should absolutely do this for yourself. It will change your outlook.
I once did a simple real-life experiment - which you can only do with
cash money so put those confounded cards away - to "accidentally"
give shopkeepers and mates a bit more money than necessary. In every
case that they counted it they gave me back the difference. In all other
cases they simply trousered it, thus showing that they blindly trusted me.
My hypothesis is that we all know the reality doesn't match the pervading
sentiment. So this article really begs a strange question.

Simple. It's the official organising principle of our capitalist society.
It's broadcast and amplified to us every waking moment through all media.
The problem is, it's at odds with what we actually are as human beings.
