I don't know if it works for every book or even for this one, but perhaps where applicable trying to split the book into 2 or more parts, each priced moderately below the $9.99 limit. It would be interesting to find out if the lower price of part one increases sales enough to compensate for the lesser amount of sales of the latter parts, and if in the end the income is higher, lower, or about the same.
