Software development and even IT are a vast superset of building crappy websites with trendy and often incomprehensible frameworks. One can imagine so many areas of software that don’t involve these at all, e.g. embedded work or HPC. Not wanting to build web sites isn’t necessarily the same as not wanting to do software development.
