- dingaling 4y agoParticularly in Scotland, where celebrating Christmas was technically illegal until 1958
- smcl 4y agoIt was made a bank holiday in Scotland in 1871. So I imagine if it was "technically illegal" it would've been some antiquated law along the lines of those "you can kill a welshman within the city limits on a Sunday" ones that would not have been enforced for centuries.
