  But Hong Kong is still a separate legal jurisdiction, and in this particular case, the "misinformation" law does not apply to Hong Kong. If what you say is the reason, then why won't Safari block gitlab.com in Macau also? In short, Apple messed up.

    I think that distinction has pretty much been smashed over the last couple of years.

      Unfortunately yes it has, but I don't think Apple should be helping the CCP to speed up the process.
