I liked the style of Gilles' PhD dissertation, but imho notation could be simplified a little bit. But in general it's easy to understand. Regarding the TeX rendering, what do you mean with "spacing around inline TeX"? I don't see nothing wrong on my side, but maybe it depends on the browser.
