Given that breathing is a normal, natural activity, there should also be a "ground state" MRI where someone normally does nasal breathing is examined without being given any instructions to do so. I also don't see how they conclude from this the effects of "prolonged" breathing activity. Their strong claims relative to the sample size and the quality of the experiment makes me doubt their level of motivation to do proper science. Just another flimsy paper used to pad resumes.
