Surprisingly, just as the majority of its creators (as witnessed by Big Tech political affiliations and donations), AI turns out to be a progressive establishment liberal with a slight (within allowed limits of course) libertarian bent. Who could have expected that?

- djur 4y agoThe Political Compass quiz is extremely flawed and skews almost everybody to the libertarian left (which is aligned with the positions of its operators). The positions they have published in recent years for real-world politicians are complete nonsense (there is absolutely no way to justify the auth-right drift in their US presidential scores over the years, for instance). There's absolutely no reason to think that the center of any of these systems actually maps to the central or majority position in US politics (or global politics, for that matter). One recurring observation about people with moderate/swing politics in the US is that they're ideologically less prone to grouping -- their positions correlate less strongly to each other than those of people further to the left or right.
