While I agree that the state acted worse and that there is injustice here, she herself was very politically and professionally unsavvy. Push back against a policy you think is bad: yes, make a fuss, leave and go to the media: yes. Take matters into your own hands while at work and directly do what you've been told not to do: no.
On the balance of her past actions it seems likely to me that she did take access and take data from those systems when she wasn't supposed to. Perhaps it seemed innocent enough to her at the time as well. But again, really unsavvy, not necessary for whistleblowing, not really helpful to anyone. Hell, she could have taken the data, written it to a usb drive and buried it somewhere for future reference and nobody would have been the wiser (if it was her). Instead it was used to send a message to health workers.
She basically put herself in front of the law to stamp her foot and shout she's right. Maybe she is right, but she could have shouted via other avenues. Instead she has given more fodder to those she's disagreeing with.
- fumeux_fume 4y agoLol. Yeah, she's the asshole here.
- jemmyw 4y agoI can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I didn't say and don't think she was being an asshole necessarily, or perhaps she was a little but the state massively overreacted. I'm just pointing out she wasn't careful at all.
