I prefer UUIDv7 over ULID because of the standardization process.

- drzaiusx11 4y agov6 and v7 aren't standardized yet, although proposals are ongoing.
- sedatk 4y agov8 too, no?
- edflsafoiewq 4y agoWhat does the standardization process get you?
- onnnon 4y agoBetter adoption. e.g. https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/uuid-ossp.html https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/uuid-ossp.html
- sedatk 4y agoUUIDv7 hasn't been standardized yet, but ULID is way worse. Its spec includes a monotonic mode which entirely contradicts the promises of a "universal" ID.
- someonespecial 4y agoFrom what I understand, the monotonic is only there to handle race cases within the same millisecond. How does this break the "universal" part?
