- pasdechance 4y agoKoyaanisqatsi: haven't seen someone mention that in forever
- m_ke 4y agoAdam Curtis - Can't get you out of my head
- t0bia_s 4y agoI watched right after Century of Self. It was a little bit hard to find connections between different stories in parallel storytelling.
- willmeyers 4y agoFor All Mankind (1989) https://www.criterion.com/films/599-for-all-mankind https://www.criterion.com/films/599-for-all-mankind This was one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Even if you don't care for the Apollo missions, it's just so well done it deserves a watch. It's less than an hour and a half.
- t0bia_s 4y agoI saw it in cinema on film festival. Great documentary indeed.
- pasdechance 4y ago'The Century of Self' is great. All of Adam Curtis' documentaries are awesome. I also watched that Matt Walsh thing. A little vomit-inducing, but a great example of manipulative documentary techniques ("experts," scary music, "gotchya" ambush interviews). I usually consume a number of documentaries, but this year I think I only watched... Frozen Planet II Fake Famous (2021) https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/788610-fake-famous https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/788610-fake-famous Do YouTube documentaries count? 'Contrepreneurs: The Mikkelsen Twins' https://yewtu.be/watch?v=biYciU1uiUw https://yewtu.be/watch?v=biYciU1uiUw and 'Line Goes Up – The Problem With NFTs' https://yewtu.be/watch?v=YQ_xWvX1n9g https://yewtu.be/watch?v=YQ_xWvX1n9g by Folding Ideas were great.
- sfusato 4y agoThe Untold History of the United States (2012): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1494191/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1494191/ 10 episodes, ~1 hour each Oliver Stone's re-examination of under-reported events in American history.
