OK, class - use fallacies to your advantage. For example, label your position to win, even if inaccurate.
Exhibit A: The "West Bank".
According to Wikipedia, The "West Bank" is a landlocked territory on the East of Israel. [1] In geography, a bank is the land alongside a body of water. [2]
The "West Bank" is therefore not "west", nor is it a "bank".
More importantly:
The "West Bank" extends through more than 80% of the width of Israel. It extends vertically through half of Israel, and through more than 70% of it's length if one excludes the non populated areas of the Sinai desert.
As in: Detroit, Michigan, Denver, and Salt Lake City are all part of the "West Bank" of the U.S. (Amazingly, they are also all part of the North, South, and East Banks!)
Surely it is not that big of a deal if we gave back that land to the Indians!
There are many other fallacies to learn from the "Palestinians" (there's another!), which can be taught in debate class.
EDIT: I am not really advocating for using these techniques in debate. I am an old schooler that thinks that the ends do not justify the means, and that you should live honestly and fear G-d.
