- eesmith 4y ago"The Jupiter Effect" did not occur in 1982, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jupiter_Effect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jupiter_Effect . It did fit in well with the premillennial, dispensationalism of "The Late Great Planet Earth" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Late_Great_Planet_Earth https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Late_Great_Planet_Earth which predicted the Biblical End Times were coming in the 1980s (a generation after the founding of Israel). The alignment was closer in 1128. This current alignment won't be so close as the 1982 one - we'll need to wait until 2357 for a better one.
- tabtab 4y ago1982 was the worst recession the US had since the Great Depression. Our family struggled then; unfond memories. I'm not a believer in astrology, only pointing out that 1982 was not a happy time.
- eesmith 4y agoLots of people have had lots of not happy times. 1970s had the oil crisis. And the Cambodian killing fields. The winter of 1976–1977 brought snow to Miami. 1960s had Vietnam. The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution was from 1966 to 1976. 1990 was a bad time for the Iron Curtain. The way these predictions work is to sell fear, profit, then after the fact either point to something bad that did happen (and bad things happen all the time) or say the calculations were wrong, and issue a new date. Don't fall for it.
