I need a laptop of roughly the build quality of an M1 MacBook Air supported at roughly the level of OSX with a UI more or less equal to Aqua. I tried putting a Mint on a late model Dell a few years ago and swore off Linux on a laptop for a few more years. It has to just work. There's a lot to like in Linux, particularly in the Cloud but it still has to just work on a laptop.
