North Korean Hackers Created 70 Fake Bank, Venture Capital Firm Domains
- themodelplumber 4y agoMalicious Office documents, man these things have been bad since the '90s! Not sure how the .iso comes into play though? Are these things granted some higher status by the host OS? Can they be opened transparently or is the client receiving e.g. .iso-mounting wrappers as well? > Specifically, the hackers are distributing optical disk image (.iso) and virtual hard disk (.vhd) files containing decoy Office documents, which allows them to avoid the MotW warning that Windows typically displays when a user attempts to open a document downloaded from the internet.
