Ask HN: What was the best meal you had this year?
- menshiki 4y agoGood question. For my birthday, my SO took me to a fancy sushi place. It was my first time experiencing such a high quality food. I believe sushi is one of those foods where you can actually tell the difference based on the quality of ingredients used. Money well spent.
- nullish_signal 4y agoSticky Rice as well. I love when I can use chopsticks to support a decent chunk of rice, instead of dry sand grains falling through my grasp
- synaesthesisx 4y agoA great omakase is a truly memorable experience.
- nullish_signal 4y agoEither the Steak ladled in Butter + Thyme/Garlic, and Mashed Potatoes al Gratin that we had for Christmas dinner or the small bowl of Greek Yogurt and Warm Honey I just had 15 minutes ago

- gwnywg 4y agoIt's not this year meal but the best meal ever was steak I had in 'Buenos Aires' restaurant in London. I don't live in London anymore but I dream to visit that restaurant once more :)
- hulitu 4y agoSpagetti bolognese with fried potatoes, together with a big mac. And a bottle of cheap whisky.
- taylorhou 4y agoBun bo hue literally on the side of a road in the Hue region in Vietnam. Haven't found anything in America like what you find in SE Asia where there's no menu, just one item and one price and that's all they serve 18 hrs a day nonstop.
- scottmcdot 4y agoMy wife's oven baked panko crumbed eggplant.
